Until a few years ago many of us had the privilege of having our grandmother or aunt living in the countryside in a farmhouse or farm surrounded by animals and we would visit her from time to time. We spent a fabulous day outdoors, in contact with chickens, donkeys, sheep ... Since today few are so lucky, we try to fill this eight. We will receive you with friendly treatment and you will enjoy the donkeys, the chicken coop and the surroundings.
Donkeys are disappearing from our territory and we want to help prevent this from happening. This is a socio-educational initiative with the interaction of our children and these noble animals in which all parties benefit.
Our purpose is the revaluation of the donkey species.
In the past, the donkey was very common in any activity related to the transport of cargo or people, cultivation and harvesting work, threshing in the era, forestry work, livestock surveillance, movement of mills, waterwheels and water pumps, etc. With industrialization, its effectiveness in the face of motor machines was disappearing.
Recovering its traditional uses for the eco-tourism, therapeutic, leisure and some agricultural and forestry activities, it is possible to maintain this species and preserve it in our country.
With the increase of ecological values and the interest in our natural parks, hiking in the company of our donkey is ideal for discovery in nature.
In France and specifically in the Pyrenees, it is quite widespread, and the use of donkeys for hiking continues to grow.
Because of the docility and the smaller sizes that donkeys have with respect to horses, they make them ideal for children's initial equestrian practice, developing balance, confidence and responsibility. For the little ones it does not impose so much a donkey as a horse.
Apart from riding a donkey, there are many socio-educational activities related to the donkey, such as working with the plow, loading the animal, attaching it to the cart, basic fittings, games, taking care of it and brushing it. or go hiking while the donkey carries the load and participate in some events.
We are not engaged in buying and selling.
We have a consolidated herd with some specimens rescued and bred between donkeys and by donkeys, they have a good interaction between them and people, so it is a balanced group of animals where they all complement each other. Ideal to offer them to schools, groups, families or for therapeutic activities for people with other abilities with support inside the enclosure with close contact with the animal and with the support and coordination of its monitors and professional therapists .
Thank you for your support.
